Humanitarian Coalition Appeal for Venuzuela

Posted 6/30/2026

The devastation continues in the wake of the deadly twin earthquakes that shook Venezuela, with the death toll mounting to at least 1,700 and nearly 3,000 injured. Rescue and recovery operations are continuing, amid dangerous conditions and aftershocks. Approximately 43,000 people are still missing.

In response to the crisis, the Government of Canada has announced it will match all donations made to the Humanitarian Coalition (HC) appeal between June 25 and July 14, up to $2 million. The HC comprises 12 leading Canadian aid agencies including the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, of which Alongside Hope is a member.

Light for St. Luke's

You helped to provide light to St  Luke’s Hospital in the West Bank.

The dedicated medical staff at St. Luke's Hospital is doing everything they can to provide safe and reliable care, but frequent power outages and the increasing cost of fuel make this incredibly challenging.

Alongside Hope is providing 407 solar panels for St. Luke's. Every solar panel installed will strengthen the hospital's ability to deliver life saving care under the most difficult of circumstances. You can make a gift today to provide reliable electricity to those who need it most. Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts to Light for St. Luke’s will be matched, doubling your impact.

They have raised $71,199 towards the $176,000 goal, bringing them nearly halfway to unlocking the full match. 165 solar panels are now funded, and each one is bringing St. Luke's closer to having reliable electricity that they can control and count on.
