Major (retired) the Venerable Lee Bezanson has been an Anglican Priest for 43 years.
 
After his first three years in civilian ministry in the Diocese of Kootenay, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a military chaplain. He would serve over 20 years in places like Calgary, Lahr (former West Germany), Esquimalt, Edmonton, and Cold Lake, then finished off his career back at base Edmonton where he was the Senior Chaplain for Land Forces Western Area (an area which ranged from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Victoria, BC). During the course of his military career he deployed on United Nations duty to Haiti for 6 months (1995), NATO duty to Bosnia-Herzegovinia for 6 months (1997-98) and UN duty for 1 month to Eritrea in East Africa (2001).
 
Upon retiring from Regular Force duty in 2005, he spent some time as a Reserve Force Chaplain with the South Alberta Light Horse. When his military days were finally behind him, Lee Bezanson was appointed an Archdeacon in the Church and subsequently served again in civilian ministry by being the Rector of Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Castledowns (2005-2008), Dean of the Diocese and Rector of All Saints Cathedral, Edmonton (2008-2010) and then coming to his current assignment as Rector of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, St. Albert (2010-present).
 
 Hobbies include Golf ("which I Play badly") and being a huge fan of Formula 1 Grand Prix and NASCAR.
